The insatiable need for communication never led to the obvious next.

I have a cell phone, I never use it. I wonder why I keep it. It's not like a status symbol because it's hidden in my purse-battery probably dead.
I do enjoy listening to other peoples phone conversations though...they do act like they are all alone and say the most personal things. it makes me smile:)

Joy, since not too long ago I got stuck in an elevator I tend to take my cell-phone with me, although I am no fan of it and people complain that it´s mostly off. It is so old! It doesn´t even show the time and looks like a black bone. You are right, it can be amusing listening to what people say on their phone. But I use public transportation a lot and then a mobile can be hell! Imagine if you want to prepare for class and someone discusses dinner with her boyfriend in length! Or those people who scream into their wee mobiles because they don´t really trust something so little transports voices. (Oh, I could go on and on about people in public transportation. I am very intolerant when it comes to that ;))

Hello Moira, welcome, I am glad someone agrees with me :)

....at least they're not shaving!
( I must be one of the last people alive who doesn't own a cell phone)

Janet, yes, thank God! Perhaps the bus is too bumpy for that. (All my notes I make during a drive look like they are from a 97-year-old woman.)
You really belong to an outdying species ;)

It was very interesting to me when living in vancouver and taking the bus, that you "should" do like anybody else is there.........I wrote a little story for myself about my "invisible" friends.......:)
