BACK TO THE ROOTS

And now we are back to praying to our old God.

Do you feel, too, that the World Succer Cup has gone a bit too eurocentric?

teeheeheehee - I'm on the other side of the world and understand EXACTLY what you mean!

With the time difference over here, the matches have always been on either very late at night, or in the impossibly early hours of the morning. Needless to say I haven't watched many of them.

But Mr You and I have been keeping up to date on who wins from the comfort of our comfy bed and deep sleep, by listening to the car horns beeping and drivers cheering as as they drive home.

Lots of beeping and cheering meant Australia got through, then one night all went silent, that's how we knew it was all over.

At least now we can enjoy an undisturbed sleep once again.

I've watched a couple of games, thanks to my lil' sister who was a fan of Brazil, Germany and Portugal's team..(but she had no favorite), and now she is sad...

Hey! I am back!..finally!

huge Hug..I missed coming to your blog...but I'm glad everything is on track(well sort-of) again.

Flossy, I have to say I was a bit %sd§as"!d9fas about the Soccer Cup in the beginning, but the turning
point came (late, I admit!) when Germany played against Argentine. Nothing gets me as exited as a
penalty shoot-out. Wow! I always feel incredibly sorry then for those who miss the hit, but the energy it sets free, woohooo! Before that I relied on streets sounds as well for knowing whether our team scored well. (I discovered neighbors I never knew we had!) Happy sleeping! Since we are the host country, the hooting goes on ;)

Ria, uh, sorry, I pressed my thumbs for Portugal, you are right, its always the same teams that win...
I think there should be a World Soccer Cup for all the smaller teams. Infact now that I say it I
remember I just read about the documentary "The Other Final" that portraits the match between Bhutan
and Montserrat (both last teams in the qualification finals for the Soccer Cup 2002) that was
organised to focus more on underdog teams. I think sometimes its not so important that the best teams
win, but those who have the most charme :)

Aliie, your blog is cute as buttons! Sure you can adopt the little pug, his name is Otto and he likes to munch on fruit, although it turmoils his stomach.

Hola Marjorie, that is good news! I kept looking at your site and thought perhaps you were too busy with work and such, I didn´t realise the drama was with the hardware! Besitos!

Piero! How on earth did the Italian team manage to get those two goals in in the last two minutes??? I
give them credits for those two minutes and thats it! :)))) (Congrats!)
