SILENCIO NOCTURNO
"Night, the beloved. Night, when words fade and things come alive. When the destructive analysis of day is done, and all that is truly important becomes whole and sound again. When woman reassembles her fragmentary self and grows with the calm of a tree." (Antoine de Saint-Exupery)

I live very close to the harbour. At night, when the normal urban jungle shuts down, you often hear a lot of odd sounds coming from there. A cracking on the trails, ships being filled or unloaded, clings and clongs. Not loud, but more present than at day.
My favorite time is the blue hour. It is just after the cicadas went to sleep (not that we have some, replace the cicadas with cars) and before all the birds wake up again. Silence. Magic. Dark.
I love owl sounds. I almost never hear it. About the frog concerto though, I don´t know... lucky you sleep like a baby :)
Oh I LOVE this!! The white against the black is awesome. Paired with your long lines and flowers...stunning!
a.
I love this white and black, too. I have been away from the computer and am behind on my blogging.I'm off to catch up on your posts!
i hear the crickets and frogs in the creek and the owls hooting in the trees and it makes me feel safe! I love this drawing it reminds me of those fuzzy puff flowers that you make a wish and blow on. Love this!
Thank you Andrea, you can come and make a wish in it :)
Janet, what work ;) Hope you had happy holdidays!
Val, I love how you put the owl in there!
I live where the night don´t recover the calm and the silence until very late.
although my ghosts and my angels come always just when the blue hour is finished >> Entonces llega el silencio de la noche con sus preguntas...
Un abrazo
Ooooohhhh ....
Lu, espero que las preguntas no te mantengan despierto todo con la noche!
Ah, the night brings back the ghosts and here she is!
I've always loved Antoine de Saint-Exupery's words, but this excerpt is so amazing that I can't describe my feeling in words. And the illo is really cool. I love the total blackness contrasted with the white lines.
Miragee, isn´t he just so great? I have to tell you though I cheated a bit with the quote, the original actually says "man" and "his"... ups :)
