PATHSEEKER
"Confronted with artistic alternatives, always choose the hardest, scariest one. The one you can’t know in advance where it will come out or how to solve it. Take the longest way through the path of most resistance. Do everything, as Henry James said, in the way that takes the most doing. All easy solutions are false ones. All shortcuts lead off a cliff. Take the high, rugged uncertain road. Then even if you never finish your film, or no one ever sees it, you will have gotten something irreplaceable from the experience of making it."

yep, this is so true. And I guess it refers to persistence. Set your goal as high as you wish and make it hapen, even if it seems damn hard. And of course even if you lose, there's always something to win and by winning I mean learning.
Thanks 4 checkin out my blog and for the nice comment :)
Words to live by! :-) Love that.
Crillustration, well said, I find too it´s about persistence and the willingness to learn, to see the journey as an experiment in getting to know oneself better.
Yep, Willie, Ray Carney´s words makes me get up & get going.
Scarecrow, I think it takes us a long time before we trust ourselves enough to let loose, to get lost. In that sense its quite liberating to grow older ... :)
Wise words and tickling image. This was the bit of inspiration I was looking for this morning. Thanks!
You are welcome, Roz. I am confident you will walk your path :)
Someone said to me once:
When we have a doubt, deep down in our heart each of we always knows the right way that each of we must take, but usually it´s the most hard. (I think that it´s true)
I think it is so true, too, Lu. We often know we have to walk the hard path, but we are afraid we won´t have enough capacities to manage. And that is when the doubt comes in, questioning our strength rather than the direction.
By now I am almost ready to pack my bag and get walking !
Loved this one...
